May 31, · VERY cute book for a big sister or big sister-to-be! What I love about this book is that it focuses on the positives of being "big" and empowers the big sister to be a good helper. There are no negative connotations with having a new baby (as I've seen in other books), and the baby in the pictures could be a boy or girl/5(K). Unfortunately, a lot of the typical big sister books present the experience of becoming a big sister as a completely negative life change. If those are the only books you read to your child before she becomes a big sister, she’s likely to get more stressed out before the baby even arrives. Each personalized big brother book or big sister book is customized with the names of the older child and the new baby, and comes with an award medal celebrating the older child's new status as an incredible big brother or sister. Personalized books are also available for children who just became the older siblings of 5/5(2). The book reassures big sister that she is loved and appreciated and it rewards her for helping out and being a "super star" with her new sibling.
